Do you know the subgenres of romance and how your manuscript fits into one? What are the basic story pieces necessary to construct a romance novel and how is a romance different from other types of books? Learn how to heat up the pages, torture your hero, and find your niche in one of the best-selling genres in publishing. This workshop will also include suggestions for marketing your manuscripts to agents and editors. Leisure Books published Deborah Schneider’s first historical romance, Beneath A Silver Moon, in 2002. Promise Me is her second historical romance novel from The Wild Rose Press.
Deborah is employed as the Public Programming Coordinator by one of the busiest library systems in the country. She is responsible for developing programs for all ages and author events at forty-six sites in King County, near Seattle, WA. She has been awarded two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts to participate in The Big Read and was named Romance Writers of America Librarian of the Year 2009.
The workshop will take place at the Wilsonville Public Library in the Oak Room at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road, Wilsonville. Cost at the door is $5.00 / $3.00 for students and seniors. The workshop is from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
